Clinging to the shadows of life...

We had more snow again Monday. Only about an inch or so, and it came so early Monday morning that I didn’t even get to enjoy it.
Of course we (ECFP employees) didn’t have the luxury of a 2 hour delay or cancellation. And even if I did question my ability of driving on the ice/snow/sleet, Manny would have GLADLY come to get me… or made Chris come pick me up!
So here it is, Friday (and a much anticipated clock watching day) – and we have a high of 71, completely sunny, slightly breezy- simply put BEAUTIFUL! As for this weekend, Saturday’s going to be 78 and sunny and Sunday will also be in the mid 70’s and sunny.
I write because yesterday while driving to lunch to meet a friend I noticed that even on the 50 degree weather days that snow will hang on for dear life and hide behind the shadows of trees, houses, bushes and mailboxes! I drive the back way through my deceased grandparents’ (God rest their souls) neighborhood and saw the UGLIEST snow man! He had leaves and berries rolled all through his lopsided, half melted and crooked body! But I think that was the last of winter for North Carolina!Oh how I long for the 80 degree weekends filled with friends and family, beer, softball, get-togethers, grilling out and poker nights!
P.S. I cannot wait for the new (and probably last) season of The Hills starting this Spring
